The 10 Riiffs perfumes with a note list fall into eight families. The largest is fresh and citrus with 3 scents; 8 scents belong to two families.
How the families are made
Riiffs does not sort its perfumes into families, so this guide does it from the notes. Every note belongs to one family: citrus and mint to fresh, apple and pineapple to fruity, jasmine and rose to floral, and so on. Each note a scent lists adds to its family, and rarer notes count for more, because bergamot and musk appear in half the range and say little about any one scent.
The family with the highest total is the scent's main family; a second one is added when it comes close. A scent without a note list is in no family: the guide does not guess. The grouping is this guide's own reading of the lists, not a statement by the brand.
The eight families
Fresh and citrus 3 scents
Fresh scents are led by citrus, mint, tea or sea-like notes, with sweetness kept in the background.
Fruity 2 scents
Fruity scents put apple, pineapple, pear, berries or stone fruit at the front of the pyramid.
Floral 1 scents
Floral scents are built around flowers such as jasmine, rose, orange blossom, violet or peony.
Spicy and aromatic 2 scents
Spicy scents lead with warm or sharp spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, saffron, ginger and pepper.

Musky scents are built around the soft, clean, skin-like smell of musk, often with a powdery side.
